Since 1974 over 5000 students have trained in health and beauty with The Shirley Price International College of Aromatherapy and satellite colleges colleges in Norway, Taiwan, Americas and other countries throughout the world. Our college in Hinckley England is accredited by the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (´IFPA`).
PROFESSIONAL COURSES FOR BUSY PEOPLE. Aromatherapy is the wonderful art of using essential oils to bring a sense of well being to both giver and recipient. Here at the Shirley Price International College of Aromatherapy we offer courses from the most basic level of training upwards to qualification as a professional aromatherapist. We are the largest professional aromatherapy training college in the UK and our focus is preparing students for membership of IFPA.
Completion of the 4 module SPICA qualification is intended to equip you step by step with the hands on practical experience and tools to practice as a Holistic Therapist with a firm grounding in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, and Massage Therapy.
MODULE ONE A facinating introduction to the wonderful world of aromatherapy delivered by our tutors. You will learn a body massage and how to make simple health assessments. Essential oil knowledge will begin by learning about the history of aromatherapy, the ten most versatile oils and their uses, how to blend and treat individual people and their conditions and the basic chemistry. This is a five day module. A Certificate of Attendence will be awarded on completion of your course, when you will be deemed competant in home use. The certificate is also your passport to the Aromatherapy Diploma (Modules 2-4). The charge for module one is £350.
MODULES TWO TO FOUR. Now you are ready to train to become one of our esteemed therapists under the practical and expert guidance of our tutors. These three five day modules will teach about the various plant families, the chemical component parts of essential oils and the therapeutic effects, olfaction, the art of blending and mixing and much more. Practical skills will include a full body massage with lymph drainage, a necka dn shoulder massage, swiss reflex massage and full assessment and body analysis. After the exam you will receive our Bodywork Certificate. The charge for each module is £420 plus VAT. Exam fee is £50 + VAT.
ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY. We partner the anatomy and physiology training with Essential Training Ltd. Class one costs £220 + VAT. Course two costs £220 + VAT. Exam fee £50 + VAT.
DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE Cant travel? Our distance learning course is ideal for you. A four module course sent to your own doorstep including all the course notes, carrier oils, essential oils, books and videos that you will need. Your course will be assessed by your personal tutor. The charge is £300 per module. Our aromatherapy courses are well suited to your individual needs.

Evidence required for full membership of IFPA includes
Logged Massage practice of 50 hours
Aromatherapy Case Studies of 60 hours (at least 10 clients a minimum of 4 times each)
Evidence of the detailed study of 50 essential oils and 13 base oils.
Evidence of 50 hours study of Anatomy and Physiology
Evidence of 60 hours study of massage
Evidence of 120 hours of study of Aromatherapy to include
History, Current status of the profession, Botany, Biochemistry, Chemistry of essential oils, Safety requirements, Research methodology, Literiture search, analyse a research paper, setting up in business, CPD, use with particular client groups, devising treatment plans, Blending, effective consultation, red flag conditions and referral, extraction and analysis of essential oils, methods of application.

For 35 years we have endeavoured to create products which are as natural as possible and as long lived as practical. After all it is possible to add essential oils to cream from the fridge to create a nourishing moisture cream but it will last you only a few days. Thats where the word cream comes from. Thanks to modern developments in cosmetic science our Organic bases of white lotion, moisture cream, shampoo and showel gel/bodywash and body butter are made almost entirely with natural products. They are parabens free but still have a respectable shelf life.
When we say organic we mean it but that should not be at any price. Where the organically farmed oil is more expensive we list the conventionally farmed oil as an alternative,
